I just read the article prior to reading your blog. What is this, 1900?

If he's really "concerned about hardship for children," he should only approve marriages in which he is 100% certain that:
1) the parents won't get divorced
2) the parents won't die
3) the children will never experience the following:
- death / loss
- loneliness
- suffering
- illness
- teasing

or really any other less-than-pleasant life experience that will cause the children to suffer from situations "they didn't bring on themselves."

Obviously no one in history has ever become a more dynamic individual on account of being different than the norm. Obviously history changers have been people from perfect homes, with a white picket fence, Mom in the kitchen, Dad at work, and have worn grooves in their pew at church. I mean, obviously people who "have overcome challenges, difficulty or adversity" are crippled, incapable individuals who spend their lives in failure. Obviously.

He's "not racist," he "lets black people use his stuff," [as if that means he's racially reconciled!] but clearly he's unwilling to let the line between races get blurred or even broken. It seems he prefers to keep black things black, and white things white. That's a more subtle version of racism, is it not?

Good post. And hey, you're supposed to dig "too deep." You're an English major. :-P

I love "All the Above." I've been listening to it as I study for finals.

I think when you start living in Modesto again, we should hang out sometimes.
